Green Dumb

This is the time of the year when everything you try to transplant grows. A rainy September... Ambitious me! after many disappointing years of trying to green up my balconies only to be robbed by the scorching Delhi summers. Here I go again...

A friend of mine had given me a pot with tiny pretty roses last autumn and told my they were pretty hardy....and they were. After surviving one summer this year I finally decided to make them multiply.
Gingerly clipping stems that did not have buds on them I stuck them into flower pots. I kept a close eye on
them and was pretty happy to see the leaves stay green.

One windy evening later, I stepped out into the balcony and the pots were all empty....all gone. Totally frustrating!
After mulling over it for a few hours I decided to try my luck again.

Search search...clip clip....pot pot.

This time however, no chances taken...I surrounded my little stems with a neat fence of twigs and began my vigil.

Yes, the leaves are green and the plant seems to be taking root hurray!

Yesterday morning I got up to a rude shock...They were gone again .
Now my original rose bush already having shed so much weight made me nervous so I unhappily decided to shelve my ambitions for this year.

This morning my maid decided to pull down the chic(k)(bamboo blinds) and down comes a pigeons nest with green somethings in it.

This pigeon had romantically decided if not a bed of roses at least a rose scented nest for his beloved.

I really felt sorry for Romeo...what was done was done, ambitiously enough I stuck them still green stems back to where they belong...into the pot and the vigil is ON.
